Fit for the challenges of online teaching? Has the pandemic-induced switch to online lessons caught you out?

In this individualised training session you will learn the fundamentals of how to teach online English courses focusing on your specific personal requirements and those of the people you teach.

Course aim:

To provide the participant with the fundamentals of how to teach online English courses

Course content:

In this online one-to-one session you will benefit from the first hand know-how of a Cambridge English Celta/Delta tutor and learn how to:

• Transfer face-to-face skills to the virtual classroom
• Use techniques related to online teaching (screen sharing; chat box; different types of whiteboard, electronic writing tools,…)
• Apply different meeting software and basic resources for the online lesson
• Flip the classroom

With the one-to-one setting of this training, you will have ample opportunity to ask your own specific questions about online teaching and focus on your individual requirements.

In order to successfully complete this training, you have to record a sequence of 15 minutes from an online lesson taught by you.

A course tutor will evaluate the recorded sequence and assess whether it has met the basic requirements of online teaching. The price for the assessment is included in the course fee.

Notes:

In order to participate in this online training session, the participant will need a good internet connection and a computer with camera and headset.

Basic computer skills are required for this training session.

You will receive the link to the meeting software (virtual classroom) after receipt of course confirmation.

This is a one-to-one training that is based on a course programme, yet with the course tutor adapting the course content to cater to the participant’s needs and provide answers to the participant’s specific questions.

This training is held by one of our Cambridge CELTA/DELTA tutors.
